GCF-VCP Officials Site Visit to Segment 3 and 4 of the Vaisigano River Levees

Engaging communities within the Lelata Bridge Area regarding the design and plan for replacement of the Lelata Bridge

1st April, 2021 – On Wednesday 30th March 2021, a site visit to the Segments 3 and 4 of the planned Vaisigano River Levees was carried out for members of the GCF-VCP Board which consisted of Chief Executive Officers of the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of Women Community and Social Development (MWCSD), Samoa Water Authority (SWA) together with the UNDP Resident Representative and Officials of the GCF-VCP Implementing Agencies (IAs) and collaborating partners alongside the GCF-Project Management Unit (PMU).

The site visit was agreed to during the 13th GCF-VCP Board Meeting on 24th March 2021 and was an opportunity for the GCF-VCP Board Members including UNDP as the GCF Accredited Entity to observe on-site the planned infrastructure works and to gain a hands-on understanding and appreciation of the nature of the works in progress and the challenges being faced and addressed with the implementation.
